A standard UVB fixture runs at full output whenever its timer switches it on. LumenIZE adds electronic control: you set the daily schedule and how strong the light is through the day, and it repeats on its own.

Who it suits

Many 3 ft and mid-size enclosures, but the enclosure size alone does not decide the setup. Choose the lamp by species, the UV index you are aiming for, the basking distance, the enclosure height, and any mesh between the lamp and the animal.

How the app control works

  • Sunrise brings the output up gradually instead of going straight from dark to full light.

  • Daytime runs stronger output through the main activity period.

  • Sunset lowers the output toward evening.

  • Schedules repeat from day to day once set.

  • Linking lets compatible LumenIZE lighting in the enclosure work together.

  • Names and groups: name each lamp by enclosure, and run up to 50 compatible lamps from one app.

  • Manual controls for each lamp, and a lamp test.

The schedule is stored in the fixture, so your phone does not need to stay connected or nearby; reconnect within Bluetooth range when you want to change it. A backup battery inside keeps the clock and the program through a power cut, but it does not keep the lamp lit. Download the app from the QR code on the box.

Dimming is not the UVB percentage
The output you set in the app and the lamp's UVB percentage are different things. Pick the right lamp first, then use the app to shape the day.

Setting it up

  1. Choose the 6%, 12%, or 14% lamp for your reptile and the finished enclosure.

  2. Fix the fixture over the main basking area so it covers that spot, and leave shaded, lower-UV areas the animal can move into.

  3. Allow for screen or mesh, which reduces the UV that reaches the animal. A fixture above a screen top gives different results from one mounted inside.

  4. Build the daily schedule in the LumenIZE app: a gradual morning, stronger output through the day, and a gradual evening.

  5. Measure the UV index at the basking spot with a UV meter where you can, and adjust the height or the programmed output from what you find.

Inside a PVC enclosure, the UV does not have to pass through a screen top first. Buying it with a new PVC cage from us? Choose the installation option when you order and we will mount it. Either way, measure the usable width inside first: a cage sold as 3 ft may have less, and the connectors and cable need room too.

Guard it if your animal can reach it
If the fixture is inside the enclosure and your animal can climb to it, fit a LampGuardPro (RALGP4) over it. Arcadia makes LampGuardPro to suit LumenIZE fixtures.

Questions

Is the UVB lamp included?

Yes, a 34 in T5 HO lamp in the 6%, 12%, or 14% you choose.

Does my phone need to stay connected?

No. Once programmed, the fixture runs its stored schedule on its own. Reconnect over Bluetooth when you want to change it.

Can I switch from 6% to 12% in the app?

No. The percentages are different lamps, chosen when you order. The app dims the lamp you have; it does not change the lamp or measure the UV index at your animal.

How is it different from the standard Arcadia ProT5?

Both use T5 HO UVB lamps. LumenIZE adds app control of the output and schedule, so you can program gradual transitions through the day. The standard version is the Arcadia ProT5 UVB kit, 36 in.

Does mesh affect the UVB?

Yes. Screen or mesh reduces the UV that reaches your reptile, so allow for it when you set the fixture height and basking distance.

Can I link it to other Arcadia lights?

Yes, to compatible LumenIZE lighting, with the matching T5 to T5 or T5 to LED link cable.

Will it fit inside every 3 ft cage?

Not always. A cage sold as 3 ft may have less usable width inside. Measure the actual mounting space, and allow room for the connectors and cable.
