Zoo Med made the first reptile UVB lamp in 1993, and the ReptiSun UVB/LED is its move to LED. The UVB diodes are made in Japan and sit behind a quartz glass cover that lets UVB through while protecting them.

What is the difference from the Gen 2?

Zoo Med's Gen 2 adds four UVA chips (two at 325 nm and two at 340 nm) and more visible LEDs for a brighter light.
