A six-bin rack we designed around tall Cambro 12189CW tubs, so small arboreal reptiles get height to climb instead of the usual shallow rack tub.

Most racks hold wide, low tubs. This one holds six Cambro 12189CW tubs, each about 12 x 18 x 9 in, which leaves room for a climbing branch and a hide in every compartment.

Who it suits

The tall tubs give more vertical room than most rack containers, so the rack can suit some smaller arboreal species, or work as temporary housing. Whether it is enough for your animal depends on its size and activity, and some species need more space or more lighting than a rack can give.

  • Rounded front edges for a clean finish.

  • Probe slots at every level, behind the heat tape, so probes go in without changes to the rack.

  • Stacking tabs to line up and hold racks of the same design.

  • A front cover that hides the lighting area.

Tubs and heat

The heat tape runs along the back, so it warms the rear of each tub. It must run through a suitable thermostat. Tubs are not included unless you add the six-tub package, and you can source Cambro 12189CW tubs yourself.

Thermostat required
Never run the heat tape without a suitable thermostat. Check the temperature inside the tubs with a separate thermometer before you add animals, and again whenever you change the setup.

Choosing your options

  • Colour: black or white PVC, the same design either way.

  • Dimmable LED lighting to light the compartments. It does not replace UVB for species that need it.

  • Thermostat: one of our configurations, or a suitable thermostat you already own.

  • Six Cambro tubs, if you want the containers with the rack.

  • Casters to roll the rack out for cleaning. Lock or secure it before you open the tubs.

Questions

Are the tubs included?

No. Add the six-tub package, or use your own Cambro 12189CW tubs.

Does it come with a thermostat?

Not on its own. Choose one of the thermostat configurations, or use a suitable thermostat you already have. The heat tape must never run without one.

Can I stack two of them?

Yes. The stacking tabs line up racks of this design. Keep the stack level and stable.
