Spare output fuses for the Herpstat 6, so one dead outlet does not leave a cage cold for long. Three 3.15 amp, fast-acting, 5 x 20 mm fuses for the six output fuse holders, the rating Spyder Robotics specifies. They are not the 15 amp main fuse.

- Fast-acting
- 5 x 20 mm
- 3-pack
- Herpstat 6 outputs
The Herpstat 6 protects each output with its own fuse. If one blows, only that outlet loses power while the other five keep heating, so a spare on hand gets the cage running again once you have found the fault.

Which fuse it replaces
The Herpstat 6 has two kinds of fuse: one for each output and a main fuse for the whole unit. These are the output fuses. The Herpstat 4 uses the same size at a higher 3.5 A rating, so the two are not interchangeable.

Replacing a fuse
Unplug the Herpstat 6 and disconnect every heater, probe, and cable.
Open the case as the Spyder Robotics manual describes. On the SpyderWeb model that means removing the four screws on the bottom and lifting off the top half.
Find the fuse in front of the outlet that stopped working. Each of the 6 outputs has its own.
Check the new fuse matches the rating above, then swap it into the fuse clips.
Check the heater on that output for a damaged cord or a load over the output limit.
Reassemble the unit, plug it back in, and confirm the output works before you rely on it.

Questions
How do I know an output fuse has blown?
The display works and shows that output sending power, but the outlet gives none. Wrong settings or a loose plug can look the same, so check those first.
Are these the main fuse?
No. The main fuse is 15 A and 6.3 x 32 mm, and we stock it separately. Never fit a main fuse in an output holder.
Can I use a slow-blow or higher-rated fuse?
No. Use a 3.15 A fast-acting 5 x 20 mm fuse.
Can I replace it myself?
Spyder Robotics makes the fuses user replaceable, but you have to open the case. Follow the Herpstat 4 and 6 SpyderWeb manual, and get help from someone qualified if you are not comfortable with electrical equipment.
