Spare fuses for the Herpstat EZ1, so a blown fuse does not leave a cage without heat for long. Three 4.0 amp, fast-acting, 5 x 20 mm fuses, the rating Spyder Robotics specifies for the EZ1. They are not for the EZ2, which takes 6.3 amp.

Replacing a fuse

  1. Unplug the Herpstat EZ1 and disconnect every cable.

  2. Find the fuse drawer built into the power input connector on the bottom of the unit.

  3. Gently insert a flathead screwdriver into the recess and twist lightly to pop the drawer open.

  4. Replace the blown fuse with a 4.0 A fast-acting 5 x 20 mm fuse. The drawer holds a spare in its second spot.

  5. Close the drawer fully, plug it back in, and check it works.

Find the cause first
A blown fuse usually means an overload, a short, or a power surge. Unplug everything before you replace it, never fit a higher-rated or slow-blow fuse or bypass the holder, and if the new fuse blows too, stop using the unit until the fault is found.
