  • Up to 200 W
  • Ceramic socket
  • Bracket mount

Plastic sockets don't stand up well to hot bulbs. This ReptiZoo bracket uses a heat-resistant ceramic socket, so it suits ceramic heat emitters for night heat and basking bulbs for daytime warmth, and gives a fixed overhead heat point in a custom cage.

What it takes

  • Ceramic heat emitters

  • Halogen basking bulbs

  • Incandescent basking bulbs

  • Similar screw-in heat sources, within 200 W

Choose the bulb for your species, cage size, and the heat you need rather than the highest wattage, and confirm temperatures with a thermometer.

Setting it up

  • Ceiling mount, screw the bracket into the top of a PVC or wood enclosure for a focused heat zone.

  • Above mesh, position it over a screen top where that suits the setup.

  • Inside the cage, keep the bulb away from climbing surfaces and fit a heat lamp cage so your animal cannot touch it.

  • Cord, route it neatly and out of reach.

Thermostat and spacing
Run high-heat bulbs through a thermostat, keep space between the bulb and the enclosure surfaces, and test temperatures before your animal goes in.

Questions

Do I need a 200 W fixture?

Most setups use less. The higher rating gives a safety margin and stands up to heat better over time.

Should I use a thermostat?

Yes, especially with ceramic heat emitters. It controls the heat and protects your animal and the enclosure.
