Fitting it

  1. Switch the light off and unplug the old cable from the outlet and the fixture.

  2. Check the fixture's power input is clean and undamaged.

  3. Push the new cable's connector into the fixture until it seats firmly.

  4. Run the cable along the back of the stand, rack, or wall, and clip or tie it out of the way.

  5. Plug it into a grounded outlet or a surge-protected power bar, and check the light starts and runs normally.

Keep it outside the enclosure
Run mains cables outside the enclosure, away from moisture, heavy objects, and animals that chew. Check the cable now and then for damage near the plug and the fixture.

Does it fit every Exo Terra T5 light?

It is made for the Exo Terra T5 Terrarium Top. Other Exo Terra lights and other makers' T5 hoods may use different connectors, so compare the plug and model before you buy.

Can I use it to extend another light's cord?

No. Use it only with the T5 Terrarium Top. For a general extension, use a power bar or extension cord rated for your load.

Does it work on a PVC enclosure?

Yes, as long as the fixture is a T5 Terrarium Top. Route the cable along the back or side of the cage and clip it neatly.
