Arcadia ShadeDweller Arboreal Replacement Lamp (110 V) 2.4% UVB

Climbing animals change their distance from the lamp all day as they move up branches, cork, and plants. Arcadia made this lower-output lamp, 2.4% UVB instead of the standard ShadeDweller's 7%, so useful UV is easier to give in a tall cage where décor reaches toward the top. Its 5800 K light looks like natural daylight.

Who it suits

Arcadia designed the Arboreal system around crepuscular climbers such as crested geckos. It suits Ferguson zone 1 to 2 species, depending on mounting height, how high the animal climbs, and its UV needs:

• Crested geckos

• Suitable day geckos and other shade-dwelling geckos

• Suitable arboreal reptiles and amphibians

• Smaller snakes in the right setup

Size and fixture

This is the lamp only, for when you already own the 8 W ShadeDwellerPro Arboreal fixture. It does not include the ProT5 fixture, reflector, power cable, mounting hardware, or link cable. If you need those too, choose the ShadeDweller Arboreal ProT5 kit.

UV index by distance

Arcadia's readings at the strongest central point of the ShadeDwellerPro Arboreal, without mesh:

Stainless steel mesh can cut the UV index by 30% or more. The lamp's percentage does not tell you the UV index at your animal: distance, mesh, reflector, climbing height, and layout all change it, so measure with a UV meter when it matters.

Setting it up

• Light an area big enough to cover your animal's body, and give at least as much graduated shade.

• Arrange branches, cork, plants, and hides so your gecko can move toward or away from the light.

• For planted cages, add a compatible Arcadia Jungle Dawn LED bar for brighter light and the PAR plants need. This lamp alone is not enough for live plants.

• Use a separate, thermostat-controlled heat source if your species needs extra heat.
