Setting up a culture

  1. Mix 1/4 cup of SuperFly with 2/3 cup of hot water in a 32 oz container.

  2. Stir, and let it sit and cool.

  3. Add your flies.

  4. Keep the culture near 75 °F.

Expect larvae in 5 to 7 days and flies in 10 to 15 days. Starting from scratch? The SuperFly culturing kit adds cups, lids, and excelsior.

Do I need to add yeast?

No. SuperFly works without extra yeast, even though yeast is one of its ingredients.

How many cultures will a jar make?

About 12 to the pound at 1/4 cup a culture. The 17.6 oz jar is a little over a pound.
