Choose it when you want the cord fixed to your heat tape for good. The soldered joint stays in place, so the cord is not meant to come off and move to another piece of tape. Despite the name, it is not for a lamp: there is no socket or fixture.

How to order
Add the heat tape you need to your cart.
Add this cord for each piece you want soldered.
If you order more than one piece, say in your order notes which piece gets the cord. For several wired pieces, contact us first so we can confirm the cord count and layout.
Check your thermostat, and add a suitable proportional model if you do not have one.
Running it safely
The cord supplies power; it does not control heat. Use a proportional thermostat rated for the total load you connect, follow the setup instructions for the tape and the thermostat, and secure the probe where they say. Check the heated area with a separate thermometer and test the setup before your animal goes in, then keep checking temperatures as part of routine care.
Never without a thermostat
Do not run heat tape without a suitable proportional thermostat. A soldered joint does not remove the need for heat control.

How is it different from eyelet-style connectors?
We solder the cord to the tape instead of using eyelet-style connectors, so the joint is permanent. For a connection you can take apart, see our THG cord and connection, supply and install.
Is heat tape included?
No. Add your heat tape to the cart, then add this cord if you want us to solder it on.
