Dart frogs hide at the slightest disturbance, and Exo Terra notes they come out more when they have plenty of secure hiding places close by. In the wild they lay in leaves, nut pods, coconut halves, and hollow bamboo. This resin coconut is sized for most dart frogs and gives them the same kind of spot, but it will not rot, so it lasts for years, and in a constantly moist terrarium its rough outside slowly grows moss.

  • Smooth, non-porous base dish that frogs accept as a laying site, and that will not absorb bacteria.

  • Set it slightly tilted so water collects at one side of the dish, which some dart frog species need to deposit their eggs.

  • Lift-off top for checking eggs, then easy egg removal and cleaning from the smooth dish.

  • For reptiles, add moistened Exo Terra Forest Moss for a slightly moist hide to soak up moisture or lay eggs in.
