Who it suits

Animals in Exo Terra Nano and Mini terrariums that need UVB. Depending on their light and temperature needs, pair it with a Nano daylight basking spot or LED spot by day, and an infrared Nano spot or the Moonlight UVA LED for the night.

Setting it up

  1. Fit the bulb in the Reptile Deep Dome Nano.

  2. Set the dome over the area where your animal basks, with shade elsewhere in the terrarium.

  3. Put it on a timer for the daytime part of the cycle.

  4. Write the date on the base, and replace it after 12 months.

Our advice
UVB fades long before the bulb stops lighting up. Exo Terra's MyExoTerra app has a 'Restore the Rays' reminder that tells you when it is due.

Questions

How often should I replace it?

Every 12 months. UV output drops slowly over time even though the bulb still looks bright.

Does it give heat?

It is a UVB source, not a basking lamp. Add a Nano basking spot if your animal needs a warm spot.
