It is made from a lightweight synthetic material to copy the detail of natural stone. It is much easier to move and place than a real rock of the same size, and the material resists weathering, so it will not erode or discolour.

Placing it

  • Measure the inside of your enclosure or tank, not the outside, before you choose a size. Universal Rocks asks for interior dimensions on all its pieces.

  • Bury it a little in the substrate for a more natural look.

  • The reptile version floats in water, so Universal Rocks makes it for dry enclosures. The aqua version, with pebbles set in the back, is the one that sinks.

  • Make it a hide. Universal Rocks suggests cutting a hole with a sharp knife to turn a reptile rock into a hide.
