We bring hornworms in by request. Pre-order by Sunday and yours come in with the following week's feeder order. That is the only way to be sure of getting them, because any extras left at the end of the day get fed off to our own animals. We can also ship live feeders overnight only, in an insulated shipping box, quoted before you order and at your own risk. Contact us for a quote.

Choosing the size

Size

Hornworms grow quickly, so size at pickup can vary a little. To be sure of a size in a given week, pre-order by Sunday.

How to feed them

  • High moisture, often used to support hydration.

  • Soft-bodied, so they are easy for many reptiles to eat.

  • Strong feeding response, thanks to their bright colour and movement.

  • Best in rotation, alongside other feeders for variety.

Because of their size and moisture, moderation matters. Match the worm to your animal's head size and feeding ability, offer one or two at a time depending on the species and its body condition, and rotate with other feeders for a balanced diet.

Keeping them

  • Keep them in their original cup when you can.

  • Store them cool to slow their growth. Do not freeze them.

  • Use them soon after pickup. Hornworms grow fast and need a special diet.

Do you ship hornworms?

Only overnight, in an insulated shipping box, quoted before you order and at your own risk. Otherwise pick them up in store. Contact us for a quote.

How does the pre-order cutoff work?

Place your pre-order by Sunday and we bring yours in with the following week's feeder order. It is the best way to be sure of both availability and size.

Why might the size differ a little at pickup?

Hornworms grow very quickly, so size depends on their growth stage and how soon after pickup you use them.

Shipping

Parcels across Canada and the US are priced at checkout from the packed boxes. Pallets and freight we price by hand, usually within one business day, and you pay nothing until you have seen the total. Pickup in Calgary is free.

Returns

14 day returns on eligible unused stock items, return shipping paid by the customer. Built-to-order goods are covered by the construction warranty rather than by returns. Restocking Fees Apply for returns
