At Cornel's World, we're always refining our enclosure designs based on real-world use, customer feedback, and long-term animal care. This week, we shipped a brand-new custom enclosure design to a customer in Kingston, Ontario, and it's a build we're especially excited about.
This enclosure was designed specifically for a tortoise and built as a single-unit 6' x 3' x 2' PVC enclosure, paired with a matching stand for a clean, furniture-style setup.

A smarter lighting solution
One of the standout features of this build is the custom external light hood.
Rather than mounting heat and lighting fixtures directly inside the enclosure, this hood allows lighting to be housed outside of the terrarium while still maintaining proper basking temperatures and humidity levels inside.

This enclosure was built as a custom one-off design, tailored to both the animal's needs and the customer's space. The matching stand brings the enclosure up to a comfortable viewing and care height while keeping everything cohesive and sturdy.
Once fully set up with substrate, décor, and lighting dialled in, this enclosure is going to look even better, and more importantly, it will provide a safe, controlled environment built to last.
Always evolving our designs
This project is a great example of how our enclosure designs continue to evolve. Every custom build teaches us something new, and many of these ideas eventually make their way into future standard and semi-custom options.
