Often sold as lichen moss, Cladonia arbuscula is a fruticose lichen, grouped with the reindeer lichens. It grows in fine, branching tufts and is hand-harvested in Canada. It may look dry on arrival. With water and humidity it softens, regains its colour, and in the right conditions can start growing again.
