Jungle Earth is 100% natural maritime pine bark, shredded fine and heat-treated to cut down on bacteria. The small particles let animals dig and shape burrows that hold, much like the shelters they make in the wild. It is biodegradable.

What it suits
Humidity-loving reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates from tropical and forest habitats, especially species that dig and burrow.
Setting it up
Spread a 1 to 2 in (3 to 5 cm) layer on the terrarium floor.
Water or mist it to the humidity your animal needs, and check it with a hygrometer.
For a well-ventilated terrarium, or a species that needs very high humidity, put a substrate heater under the terrarium to raise humidity.
Care and cleaning
Spot clean every day and replace the whole bed when it needs it.
