Exo Terra cooks them in the can, which keeps the nutritional value, flavour, and aroma, softens the exoskeleton so they are easier to digest, and breaks down the collagen so your reptile can absorb it. Exo Terra says collagen helps build bone, cartilage, skin, and claws.

Exo Terra says canned insects have the same nutritional value as live ones but are easier to digest, and that no live insects need to be fed alongside them.
