  • 50 g

  • No bran
  • Bee pollen

Insects fed poorly have less to pass on. InsectFuel feeds them a blend of alfalfa, carrot, spinach, papaya, and bee pollen, with calcium carbonate, mineral clay, and added vitamins, before they go to your reptile. Arcadia leaves out bran, which contains phytic acid that can bind minerals such as calcium.

About the best-before date
Arcadia makes InsectFuel in the United Kingdom, so the pouch shows the UK best-before date. Canadian distributors report that Arcadia advises an extra 12 months of shelf life for its foods and supplements sold in Canada and the United States, but the printed date stays as it is. If you have a question about the date on our current stock, contact us before ordering.

What it feeds

  • Crickets, offered dry or as a paste, with moisture on the side.

  • Dubia roaches, from a shallow dish or dusted on fresh food.

  • Locusts, with suitable fresh plants.

  • Other feeder insects with similar plant diets. Check what your species needs.

How to use it

  • Dry: a small amount in a shallow dish inside the insect container, with a separate safe source of water.

  • As a paste: mix with warm water and let it cool fully before feeding. Remove it before it spoils and clean the dish.

  • With fresh food: lightly coat carrot or other suitable pieces, and take out old food before it goes off.

Insects need moisture as well as food, but open water dishes spill and trap them. Arcadia suggests moist vegetables or damp cotton wool. Let the insects eat before you offer them to your reptile.

Storage
Close the pouch after each use and keep it somewhere cool and dry, away from sun and high heat. Use clean, dry utensils and do not return wet food to the pouch. Throw out any powder that gets wet, mouldy, or dirty.

What's in it

Alfalfa meal (UK), calcium carbonate, carrot powder, vegetable protein powder, spinach powder, mineral clay, dextrose, carotenoids, papaya powder, and bee pollen. Some carotenoids can act as vitamin A precursors.

Questions

Does it replace calcium dusting?

No. Gut loading and dusting do different jobs. Keep following a suitable supplement plan for your reptile.

Can reptiles eat it directly?

No. It is made to feed live insects.

Why does the pouch show a UK date?

It is made in the United Kingdom. Arcadia reportedly advises an extra 12 months for North American stock, but the printed date does not change. Contact us with any question about our current stock.
