Gut loading means feeding your insects well before they become a meal, so your reptile eats what is in the insect as well as the insect. InsectFuel gives them a varied mix of dried plants and fruit with added calcium and vitamins, more than plain bran or vegetables offer.

What it feeds
Crickets, dry or as a paste, with a safe moisture source.
Dubia roaches, in a shallow dish or on fresh food.
Locusts, alongside suitable fresh plant material.
Other feeder insects that eat similar plant foods, once you have checked their needs.
It is food for the insects, not a supplement for your reptile, and it does not replace calcium dusting.
How to use it
Dry: put a little in a shallow dish in the insect container, and give the insects a safe source of moisture as well.
As a paste: mix it with warm water, let it cool fully, then feed. Take out leftovers before they spoil.
On fresh food: dust pieces of carrot or other suitable food, and remove old fresh food before it turns.
Open water dishes can spill or trap insects. Arcadia suggests moist vegetables or damp cotton wool instead. Give the insects time to eat before you feed them to your reptile.
What's in it
Alfalfa meal (UK), calcium carbonate, carrot powder, protein powder, spinach powder, mineral clay, dextrose, carotenoid, papaya powder, and bee pollen. Some carotenoids can act as vitamin A precursors.

How is it different from the 50 g pouch?
Same formula, five times as much. The 250 g suits regular feeding or larger colonies.
Can my reptile eat it directly?
No. Arcadia made it to feed live insects. Use a reptile supplement for your reptile.
Why does the pouch show a UK date?
It is made in the United Kingdom. Arcadia reportedly advises an extra 12 months for North American stock, but the printed date does not change. Contact us with any question about our current stock.
