Calcium keeps bones strong and muscles and nerves working, and growing reptiles and egg-laying females need it most. Many feeder insects carry more phosphorus than calcium, so a light dusting improves the balance of an insect meal. Your reptile still needs vitamin D3 to use that calcium, from suitable UVB, its diet, or another supplement.

Who it's for
Arcadia's examples include bearded dragons, leopard geckos, chameleons, tortoises and plant-eating lizards, and amphibians. Crested geckos on a prepared diet that already has calcium and vitamins may not need extra, though insects you offer them may still need dusting; check the directions for their main diet.
How to use it
Feeder insects: put them in a container with a small amount of powder, shake gently until lightly coated, and offer them to your reptile.
Fresh food: prepare the normal meal, add the amount needed, and mix it lightly through.
How often depends on the species, its age, and how much calcium the rest of the diet holds, so follow a plan made for your animal rather than adding a lot to every meal. If you use it with other supplements, such as CalciumPro-Mg or a vitamin powder, check the total calcium and vitamins first.

How is it different from CalciumPro-Mg?
EarthPro-Ca is 100% calcium carbonate. CalciumPro-Mg is 90% calcium carbonate and 10% magnesium carbonate, so it gives both minerals.
How often should I dust?
It depends on your reptile's species, age, and diet. Follow a feeding guide for your species.
Does calcium powder replace UVB lighting?
No. Calcium and vitamin D3 work together, and many reptiles make their D3 under UVB.
