The ReptiRad 125W radiant heat panel is a powerful, light-free heat source designed to provide steady overhead warmth in larger reptile habitats.
It’s an excellent match for PVC reptile enclosures because PVC retains heat efficiently, helping reduce temperature swings and maintain consistent ambient temps.
For best results, use a quality thermostat and confirm temperatures with an independent thermometer.
Tip: Even though this is a light-free heat source, you can pair it with UVB and/or full spectrum lighting
to encourage more natural basking behavior and daily activity.
If you want dependable heat without bright bulbs, the ReptiRad 125W helps create a stable hot side with steady overhead warmth.
It’s a great option for keepers running larger enclosures where consistent ambient temperatures matter.
Final temps depend on room temperature, enclosure size, ventilation, and probe placement. Always test and dial in settings before introducing animals.
Do I need a thermostat?
Yes. A thermostat is strongly recommended for safety and stable temperature control.
Does it produce visible light?
No visible light. It’s designed for heat only, helping preserve a natural day/night cycle.
Can I use UVB or full spectrum lighting with this?
Yes—pairing UVB or full spectrum lighting can encourage more natural basking and daily activity.
Is this better than a ceramic heat emitter?
In many PVC/insulated builds, panels provide steadier overhead heat. The best choice depends on enclosure size, ventilation, and species.
