40 Gallon Reptile Enclosure & Background Bundle
Start with More Than an Empty Glass Enclosure
The Zilla Deluxe Critter Cage 40 Gallon Breeder provides a secure and versatile glass habitat for terrestrial reptiles. Specifically, its 36″ × 18″ × 16″ dimensions provide a large floor area for building a desert, tropical or naturalistic reptile setup.
In addition, this package includes a Universal Rocks 30″ × 16″ Ledge Background. Therefore, you can start your habitat with a realistic three-dimensional rock feature instead of a plain rear wall. The rock texture also adds visual depth and usable structure to the enclosure.
Finally, you can complete the habitat with the appropriate substrate, hides, heating, lighting and décor for your reptile. As a result, this bundle provides an excellent starting point for creating a complete natural-looking display.

Practical Access & Natural Appearance
Sliding Screen Top
First, the sliding screen top provides ventilation and convenient access from above.
Feeding Door
In addition, the integrated feeding door provides convenient access for routine feeding.
3D Rock Background
Meanwhile, the included Universal Rocks background adds realistic texture and depth to the rear of the habitat.
Ready to Customize
Finally, add species-appropriate heating, lighting, substrate, hides, plants and décor to complete the habitat.
Included Universal Rocks Ledge Background
Turn the Rear Wall Into Part of the Habitat
The included Universal Rocks 30″ × 16″ Ledge Background adds a realistic three-dimensional rock formation to the enclosure. Instead of leaving the rear glass plain, you can use the background to create a natural focal point for the finished habitat.
In addition, the Ledge design draws inspiration from natural Australian rock formations. Its projecting rock surfaces add visual depth and extra structure. Therefore, suitable reptiles can use some of these areas for climbing, resting or basking when you position the background correctly.
At the same time, the background leaves room for additional décor. For example, you can combine it with branches, plants, hides and substrate to create a more complete naturalistic setup.
Background Size: The included Universal Rocks Ledge Background measures 30″ × 16″. Since the Zilla enclosure measures approximately 36″ wide, the rock feature sits within the rear display instead of completely covering the entire back wall.

Building Your Habitat
1. Start with the Background
First, position and test-fit the Universal Rocks background before you add substrate or other décor. This step makes it easier to plan the location of your heating, lighting and other equipment.
2. Add Species-Appropriate Equipment
Next, select heating, lighting and environmental controls for the reptile species you plan to keep. For example, different reptiles require different temperatures, UVB levels and humidity ranges. Therefore, build the habitat around the needs of your animal rather than using one setup for every species.
3. Complete the Habitat
Finally, add suitable substrate, hides, water, branches, plants and other enrichment. As a result, the Universal Rocks background can blend with the surrounding décor and become part of a complete naturalistic display.
