2’x4’x24″ BioActive Sliding Door Enclosure — Black Frame
A roomy front-opening enclosure with deeper substrate space for planted and bioactive setups.
BioActive Ready • Aluminum Framed PVC
Overview
This 2’x4’x24″ BioActive sliding door enclosure gives you a large, front-opening habitat with extra substrate space.
It works well for many snakes and larger lizards. However, it also suits planted and natural setups.
Because the doors open from the front, feeding and spot cleaning feel easier.
In addition, the 24″ height gives more room for climbing and decor.
The cage ships flat-packed, so it is easier to move and assemble.
Note: We currently offer this enclosure in black framing only.

Bioactive Setup Tips
Bioactive builds work best when you plan the layers first.
Start with a drainage layer if you expect higher moisture.
Then add a barrier and your substrate mix.
Next, add hardscape, leaf litter, and plants.
After that, water lightly and let the enclosure settle.
Finally, once conditions stabilize, add your clean-up crew.
- Humidity: Cover part of the screen top if you need higher humidity
- Plant light: Use an LED grow light if you want steady plant growth
- Monitoring: Check temps and humidity often, especially during the first weeks
Heating & Lighting Recommendations
Heat safely by using a quality thermostat.
This keeps temperatures steady. It also protects your animal and equipment.
For ambient warmth, many keepers use a heat panel or heat tape with a thermostat.
However, basking reptiles still need a basking bulb.
For example, a halogen bulb creates a proper hot spot and supports basking behavior.
- Best practice: Control all heat sources with a thermostat
- Gradient: Create a warm side and a cool side with hides on both ends
- Ventilation: Screen tops vent well, so adjust coverage as needed

FAQ
What makes this the BioActive version?
The BioActive version gives you more substrate space.
As a result, you can add a drainage layer, planted substrate, and leaf litter more easily.
Is this enclosure available in other frame colors?
Not right now. We currently offer this enclosure in black framing only.
Do the doors use acrylic or glass?
The doors use tempered glass, not acrylic.
This helps with clarity and scratch resistance.
Can I keep higher humidity species in this enclosure?
Yes, but plan for airflow.
First, use a moisture-holding substrate.
Then cover part of the screen top to hold humidity.
Finally, monitor humidity and adjust as needed.
Do I still need a basking bulb?
If your reptile basks, yes.
Use a basking bulb to create a hot spot.
You can still use a heat panel or heat tape for steady ambient warmth.
Should I use a thermostat?
Yes. A thermostat helps prevent overheating and keeps temps stable.
