The 4×17×22 PVC reptile enclosure gives you extra height while still fitting standard baker’s racks. This enclosure can be built as a single enclosure or divided into multiple compartments, with your choice of sliding glass or hinged plexiglass doors. Strong 1/2″ PVC holds heat and humidity well, making it a clean, durable option for both display and rack-style setups.
Build your setup around one open interior or choose separate compartments within the same cabinet. The 17″ depth provides a shallower footprint, while the 22¾″ outside height leaves room to plan furnishings and equipment.

The 4×17×2 name is a nominal size designation. Use the finished measurements above when checking your available space.
Walls, dividers and door components reduce the usable interior space. Therefore, assess each finished compartment rather than treating the outside dimensions as living space.
The 45″ width is intended to fit between the upright posts of many baker’s racks. However, rack dimensions vary, so measure the clear opening between the posts before ordering.
Select no divider for one open interior, or one permanent divider for two separate compartments.
The sliding front uses two glass door panels in total. On the divided model, these serve the two-compartment enclosure; there is not a separate pair of panels for each section.
Choose one open compartment or add dividers to create two, three, four or five separate sections.
Divided hinged models provide an individual door for each compartment. As a result, you can access one section at a time for feeding or cleaning.
Each internal divider creates one additional compartment. For example, two dividers create three compartments and are available with hinged doors.

More compartments mean narrower individual spaces. Check that each section can accommodate the animal, furnishings and required environmental conditions.
Choose black or white PVC, then select assembled or flat packed. Shipping arrangements depend on the finished configuration and delivery location.
The screen-top option includes metal screen with ¼″ × ¼″ openings. Before choosing it, plan the equipment position and the clearance needed above the enclosure.
Add LED lighting for visible illumination. However, it does not replace species-appropriate UVB or heating equipment.
Sealant is available for setups requiring sealed interior seams. Follow its application and curing instructions; the sealant-only option requires a caulking gun.
Plan heating, lighting and furnishings around the selected layout. In a divided enclosure, measure conditions in each compartment rather than relying on a single reading for the entire unit.
Finally, check door operation, equipment clearance and usable space before introducing animals. Each compartment must meet the needs of its occupant independently.
