36″x18″x18″ BioActive Sliding Door Enclosure — Black Frame
Bioactive-ready enclosure with a deeper substrate dam for planted builds and natural setups.
BioActive Ready • Aluminum framed PVC
Overview
This 36″x18″x18″ BioActive sliding door enclosure gives you a clean, front-opening habitat.
It fits many common reptile setups. However, it also supports deeper substrate for bioactive builds.
Because the doors slide from the front, daily care feels easier.
In addition, front access helps reduce stress during feeding and cleaning.
The enclosure ships flat-packed, so setup and transport are simpler too.
Note: We currently offer this enclosure in black framing only.

Bioactive Setup Tips
Bioactive builds work best with a simple plan.
First, choose your drainage layer if your setup needs it.
Then, add a barrier and your substrate mix.
Next, add leaf litter, hides, and hardscape.
After that, plant and water lightly.
Finally, once conditions stabilize, add your clean-up crew.
- Humidity control: Cover part of the screen top if you need higher humidity
- Plant light: Use an LED grow light if you want strong plant growth
- Monitoring: Track temps and humidity so you can adjust faster
Heating & Lighting Recommendations
Heat safely by using a quality thermostat.
This keeps temps steady. It also protects your animal and gear.
For ambient warmth, many keepers use heat panels or heat tape with a thermostat.
However, basking reptiles still need a basking bulb.
For example, a halogen bulb creates a hot spot and supports basking behavior.
- Best practice: Control all heat sources with a thermostat
- Gradient: Set a warm side and a cool side with hides on both ends
- Ventilation: Use the screen top for airflow, then cover part if needed

FAQ
What makes this the BioActive version?
This version has a deeper substrate dam. As a result, you get more room for drainage layers and planted substrate.
It also helps if you keep species that dig or burrow.
Is this enclosure available in other frame colors?
Not right now. We currently offer this enclosure in black framing only.
Do the doors use acrylic or glass?
The doors use tempered glass. This gives clear viewing and better scratch resistance.
Can I run higher humidity in this enclosure?
Yes, but plan for airflow. First, use a moisture-holding substrate.
Then, cover part of the screen top to hold humidity.
Finally, monitor with a hygrometer and adjust as needed.
Do I still need a basking bulb?
If your reptile basks, yes. Use a basking bulb to create a hot spot.
You can still use a panel or heat tape for steady ambient warmth.
Should I use a thermostat?
Yes. A thermostat keeps temps stable and helps prevent overheating.
