Arcadia Supplementation Schedule: A Guide to Calcium, D3 and Reptile Vitamins
Learn how EarthPro-A, CalciumPro-Mg and ReVitaliseD3 fit into a planned feeding routine.
Start with the whole setup. Arcadia’s feeding programme assumes suitable UVB lighting, controlled heat, hydration and exercise. Follow current product directions and adapt the routine to your reptile’s species, diet and UVB exposure.
Why Look Beyond Calcium With or Without D3?
Most reptile keepers know that calcium matters. Many also consider UVB exposure when choosing calcium with D3 or calcium without D3. However, that decision is only one part of a balanced feeding plan.
The Arcadia supplementation schedule brings several products into a planned rotation. EarthPro-A forms the regular foundation, CalciumPro-Mg supplies calcium with magnesium, and ReVitaliseD3 provides periodic preformed vitamins.
Using these products together means following a rotation rather than mixing every powder into every meal. Food variety, suitable heat and appropriate UVB remain essential parts of the plan.
The Three Core Arcadia Supplements
1. EarthPro-A: The Regular Foundation
EarthPro-A combines calcium, mineral clay, B vitamins, amino acids, bee pollen and carotenoid sources. It contains no added D3. Arcadia positions it as the regular supplement used at most feeds, alongside suitable UVB lighting.
It is more than plain calcium. Its carotenoid ingredients also differ from the preformed vitamin A supplied by ReVitaliseD3.
2. CalciumPro-Mg: Calcium Plus Magnesium
CalciumPro-Mg adds magnesium to the calcium provision. Magnesium contributes to normal bone, muscle and nerve function. Arcadia includes this product at the fourth feed in its general feeding programme.
This gives it a specific place in the rotation.
3. ReVitaliseD3: The Periodic Vitamin Supplement
ReVitaliseD3 supplies minerals plus preformed vitamins A, D3 and E. It therefore fills a different role from a basic calcium-with-D3 powder.
Within the feeding programme, it provides a periodic vitamin top-up. Its frequency should reflect UVB exposure, diet and current product directions.
Arcadia Supplementation Schedule: An Eight-Feed Example
This example shows a rotation with ReVitaliseD3 at feed eight. Count feeding events, not days. A reptile fed daily reaches feed eight much sooner than one fed twice a week.
| Feed | Supplement |
|---|---|
| 1, 2 and 3 | EarthPro-A |
| 4 | CalciumPro-Mg |
| 5, 6 and 7 | EarthPro-A |
| 8 | ReVitaliseD3, where appropriate for the animal’s plan |
After feed eight, repeat the selected cycle. Keep a feeding log so you know which product comes next. Follow each label for the amount used.
Why Do Arcadia Guides Show Different Intervals?
Arcadia’s general insectivore, herbivore and omnivore guides allow a vitamin A/D3 powder at feed six or eight. Its ReVitaliseD3 product page instead describes use at feed eight or sixteen with correct UVB and heat. These are different published options.
The table is therefore an example rather than a rule for every reptile. Choose the interval using the current label, species, UVB exposure and the rest of the diet. If those instructions leave you unsure, a reptile veterinarian can help set the plan.
Avoid adding another D3 or multivitamin routine on top without checking the combined nutrient provision.
Does the Same Routine Suit Every Reptile?
Arcadia publishes guides for different feeding groups. Insect-eating reptiles, plant-eating reptiles and omnivores share a similar core framework. Their foods, meal sizes and feeding frequency still differ.
Prepared Diets Need Separate Attention
Prepared diets already contain added nutrients. For example, Arcadia StickyFootGold gecko diets contain vitamins and minerals. Optimised52 tortoise food also contains ReVitaliseD3. Follow the food’s directions before adding more supplements.
Whole-Prey Diets Are Different
Do not automatically apply this insect-and-plant feeding example to a snake eating whole prey. Its diet and longer feeding intervals call for a separate assessment.
Where Do the Other EarthPro Products Fit?
These products have separate roles. They are not additional powders that every reptile needs at every feeding.
ShedSupport: Used as Required
ShedSupport is a targeted supplement for the shedding period. Arcadia describes a five-day course around shedding. Follow the packet instructions rather than placing it permanently into the eight-feed rotation.
Persistent shedding problems also need a review of hydration, humidity and health.
InsectFuel: Feed the Feeders
InsectFuel is used to feed and gut-load live feeder insects. This supports nutrition through the insects themselves, alongside the reptile’s dusting routine.
If you want an Arcadia product for your feeder insects, InsectFuel is the dedicated option.
EarthPro-Ca: Plain Calcium Without D3
EarthPro-Ca is the plain calcium option. It does not provide the same blend as EarthPro-A or CalciumPro-Mg.
It may suit a separate calcium plan, but it is not a required fourth powder in the core rotation shown above.
Plant-Based Additions for Reptiles That Eat Vegetation
FlowerBoost and DragonFuel are intended to add variety to suitable plant-based meals. They fit the diets of reptiles that eat vegetation, such as bearded dragons, uromastyx and iguanas.
They are not required additions for every insect-eating reptile. Arcadia’s published directions describe adding them to the reptile’s food. For feeding and gut-loading insects, use InsectFuel.
FlowerBoost: Flowers and Petals for Dietary Variety
FlowerBoost adds dried flowers and petals to suitable herbivorous and omnivorous diets. Arcadia lists tortoises, bearded dragons, uromastyx and iguanas among suitable users.
Sprinkle it over suitable plant matter or rehydrate it with water. Arcadia recommends adding it at 10% of the portion size. Follow the current package directions.
DragonFuel: A Botanical Food Sprinkle
DragonFuel contains a mix of plant ingredients, vitamins, minerals, bee pollen and a probiotic. Arcadia identifies bearded dragons, uromastyx and iguanas as intended users.
Mix it into suitable fresh food to increase variety. Arcadia’s feeding programme describes adding DragonFuel to fresh foods at 10% of the feed volume. Keep the main diet appropriate for the species.
Keep Your Supplement Routine Consistent
- Track feeds: Record the feeding event and supplement used.
- Follow the label: Use the recommended amount for each product.
- Check prepared foods: Account for nutrients already included.
- Review UVB exposure: Consider output, distance, screening and access to shade.
- Keep food varied: Offer a suitable range of foods for your species.
Arcadia Supplementation FAQs
Do I mix all three core powders together?
The example rotates them at separate feeds. Use the scheduled product and follow its label rather than combining all three at every meal.
Is this an eight-day schedule?
No. It counts feeds. Keep the feeding frequency appropriate for your animal and record each feeding event.
Does UVB mean I never need dietary D3?
Arcadia’s programme allows periodic ReVitaliseD3 with suitable UVB. The interval depends on the full care plan. Owning a UVB lamp alone does not establish the animal’s exposure.
Do insect-eating reptiles need FlowerBoost or DragonFuel?
These products are intended for suitable diets that include vegetation. They are not necessary additions for every insect-eating species. InsectFuel is the dedicated product for feeding feeder insects.
Do I need the entire EarthPro range?
No. The core rotation uses three products. ShedSupport, plain calcium, gut-loading food and botanical additions have separate roles. Select them according to your animal’s needs.
