wire terrariums

This massive enclosure was built for Chris Murdoch who works at the school. The cage was going to be situated in the science wing of the private school for the kids to set up and maintain while they were going to school. The cage was to be situated on a pedestal between a set of stairs and a ramp, so everything had to be visible from all sides. This cage was designed by going off of their existing blueprints, and reference photos so that the cage was build to suit the space. Due to the large size the cage needed to utilize thicker glass than I usually use. The cage once it was crated weighed 1000 lbs. The cage also had to be a self sustaining unit that could be heated and lighted on its own, as well as a automatic misting system. This cage was designed with AutoCADD 3D so Chris could know exactly what she was getting before it was built in case any changes needed to be made. Here is the pictures of the cage that was a long time in the making. Hope you all like it. I wish it was closer so that I could see the cage evolving as the plants grow and animals are added.
